This guide helps students submit work to a Feedback Studio Standard Assignment. Use it to identify whether your assignment uses the New Standard Assignment or Classic Standard Assignment workflow, then follow the steps for your version.

Which version of the Standard Assignment am I using?
There are currently two versions of the Standard Assignment:
- New Standard Assignment
- Classic Standard Assignment
Your institution may use one version or both versions at the same time. Use the image below to identify your version, then follow the matching submission steps.
Submit to a Standard Assignment
Before you submit, check that your file type and file size are accepted. Review the accepted file types and sizes before you begin.
Only one document can be submitted to a Turnitin assignment. Multiple documents and Zip files cannot be selected for upload.
To submit to your Standard Assignment:
- Open the assignment.
- Select the Submit button.
Upload a file to Turnitin using one of these options:
After you upload your file, you can preview the file before submitting.
Drag and drop
- Drag and drop the file you want to submit into the outlined area that says Drag and drop your file here.
- Review the submission title. Your submission title autofills based on your file name. To rename it, edit the submission title text box.
- Select Upload and Preview.
Upload from your device
- Select the Browse Files button; then, select the Your device option.
- Choose the file from your device.
- Review the submission title. Your submission title autofills based on your file name. To rename it, edit the submission title text box.
- Select Upload and Preview.
Upload from Google Drive™
- Select the Google Drive option from the Browse Files button.
- Log in to your Google account.
- Locate the file in your Google Drive.
- Select the file, then choose Select.
- Review the submission title. Your submission title autofills based on your file name. To rename it, edit the submission title text box.
- Select Upload and Preview.
Upload from Microsoft OneDrive™
- Select the Microsoft OneDrive option from the Browse Files button.
- Log in to your Microsoft account.
- Locate the file in your Microsoft OneDrive.
- Select the file, then choose Select.
- Review the submission title. Your submission title autofills based on your file name. To rename it, edit the submission title text box.
- Select Upload and Preview.
Preview and submit
After your file uploads, preview it before submitting.
- Confirm that the preview shows the file you want to submit.
- Use the left and right arrows at the bottom of the document preview to review each page.
- Select Submit.
You may see a blue processing message while your submission is processing.
When the submission is complete, a green success message appears at the top of the submission page. A green Submitted status appears with your submission date and time.
To submit to your Classic Standard Assignment:
- Open the assignment from the Assignment Dashboard.
- Select the assignment title bar to review the assignment details.
- Select Upload Submission.
The Submit File screen lets you submit in three ways:
After you upload your file using your chosen method, you can review a preview of your file and submit.
Upload submission
The Upload Submission method allows you to upload a file directly to Turnitin.
- Select the browse button, or drag your file directly onto the modal.
- Confirm that you are uploading an allowed file type.
- Select Upload and Review.
Text input
The Text Input method allows you to submit the text of your assignment directly to Turnitin.
- Enter or paste your submission title into the Submission Title field.
- Enter or paste your submission text into the Submission Text field.
- Select Upload and Review.
Cloud submission
The Cloud Submission method allows you to submit from a cloud drive.
- Select the Cloud Submission tab to open the cloud drive dropdown.
- Choose the cloud drive that contains the file you want to submit.
- Select your file within the cloud drive.
- Confirm that you are uploading an allowed file type.
- Select Upload and Review.
Review and submit
Before you submit, check that the file you are about to submit is correct.
If resubmissions are not enabled for this assignment, you may not be able to replace an incorrect submission.
- Review the file preview.
- If the file is correct, select Submit to Turnitin.
- Wait until you see the submission complete notice before leaving the submission process.
After your submission is complete, a digital receipt appears in your browser window and a copy is sent by email. Save the receipt and submission ID as proof of submission.
If the digital receipt does not appear, return to the class portfolio page and view the assignment to confirm that your submission completed successfully. To check and view your submission, select the paper title under the title column to the right of the assignment name.
